Review of Moschino Spring 2023 Ad Campaign by Photographer Steven Meisel and Art Director Jason Duzansky with models Lulu Wood, Vittoria Ceretti, Malika Louback, Mila van Eeten, and Sherry Shi
Moschino is addicted to love in its audaciously fun Spring 2023 campaign by photographer Steven Meisel and art director Jason Duzansky.
Referencing the corny, campy glamor of 80s music videos – in particular Robert Palmer’s “Addicted to Love” – Meisel’s photographs see his ensemble cast pose, strut, and dance in Jeremy Scott’s playful and bold designs. While their moves might recall those of background dancers, these women are the stars of the show, while the collection’s zany and bright details lend a lushness to the compositions.
The accompanying short videos, which are perfectly punchy for Instagram stories or TikTok, find playful ways to imbue the details of the collection into the choreography that infuses 50s kick-line moves and 80s supermodel glam into stylishly over the top statements.
Full of fun details, big energy, and playful pop cultural references, the campaign is unabashedly, unmistakably Moschino.
