Looking back at the best campaigns of the year often allows us to pick out connecting threads and conceptual patterns, but the best women’s fashion campaigns of 2023 don’t readily suggest themselves to easy categorization. Instead, they see creative and marketing teams confidently come together to express each brand’s take on sartorial femininity, whatever that may look like.
Christopher Kane went beyond skin-deep beauty with a campaign that further pushed its collection’s exploration of anatomy and the way we depict the human body. Both of Miu Miu’s major seasonal campaigns made the list with their continued exploration of the brand’s idiosyncratic and intellectual take on young womanhood. Tom Ford (the designer) said farewell with a campaign that revisited some of his most iconic looks and the muses who brought them to life. Loewe shared a campaign starring the legendary Maggie Smith – enough said.
