100 Years After Jeanne Lanvin Opened a Store in Cannes, the Brand is Returning With a Pop-Up Timed to the Film Festival That Will Become a Permanent Boutique Next Year
Lanvin is returning to the city of Cannes, opening a pop-up store ahead of the film festival that will transition into a permanent boutique next year. The opening marks a homecoming for the French house where Jeanne Lanvin opened a boutique in the 1920s near the Miramar Hotel. The new 710-square-foot location is steps away from the old Royal Hotel, where Lanvin set up shop a century ago.
“This is a return to Cannes for Lanvin after a century-long absence. It has meaning. And as it always is with real estate, this was about seizing a fantastic opportunity to come back in a prime location on La Croisette,” said Lanvin deputy general manager Siddhartha Shukla.
For design inspiration, the brand looked to the trans-Atlantic Normandie ship, where Jeanne Lanvin held a couture presentation in 1935. The boutique features nautical touches in wood, white, and blue, evoking the sea and sky of setting sail.
The boutique will expand into a permanent location in 2025, modeled after the Madison Avenue flagship.
Collections from Spring and Fall 2024 will be available at the pop-up, along with a dedicated capsule for red carpet needs. A VIP section will be included in the full boutique opening next year.
To celebrate, Lanvin will cohost a dinner with Charles Finch, honoring director Paul Schrader. The brand will offer souvenir postcards reproducing Jeanne Lanvin’s sketches for her original Cannes collections.
