Racing Icon’s Designs Blend Couture with Winter Sportswear
Lewis Hamilton, the renowned F1 driver, has collaborated with Dior on a new capsule collection and has been named the brand’s newest menswear ambassador. The campaign for the collection, photographed by Kenny Germe, showcases Hamilton’s unique fashion sense.
Designed alongside Dior’s Kim Jones, the collection blends couture and practicality with winter sportswear. It includes casual suiting in traditional Dior tweeds paired with slouchy denim, knitwear, fleeces, and sweats. Inspired by the technical rigor of Japanese skiwear, the pieces offer protection from the cold.
Highlights of the collection include the retro and sporty B44 Blade bag, which combines functionality with decoration, and the Dior Snow Derby, a multi-layered, microfiber snow sneaker. The range also features quarter-zip sweaters adorned with traditional African textiles crafted by weavers from Burkina Faso, reflecting Hamilton and Jones’s commitment to showcasing unique artisanal processes.
Hamilton’s fashion influence extends beyond the racetrack, with his style choices cementing his status as a top-tier fashion icon. Dior commends Hamilton, stating that he “embodies the boldness and singularity of Dior allure.”
The collection will be available in boutiques and online at dior.com from October 17.
