Celine Has Opened A Women’s Shop At Bergdorf Goodman

Celine Expands with Shop-in-Shop at Bergdorf Goodman

Celine has recently opened a shop-in-shop at Bergdorf Goodman in the U.S., featuring an architectural concept by Hedi Slimane, the brand’s artistic and image director, and original works by American artists. The space, dedicated to women’s ready-to-wear, quietly opened on July 10 on the third floor of the Manhattan specialty store.

In September, the shop will showcase an exclusive capsule from Celine’s fall 2024 collection, named “L’Arc de Triomphe,” drawing inspiration from the ’60s, known as the brand’s “golden age.” This era emphasized coordinated two-piece looks, A-line shapes, short hemlines, and groovy pillbox caps.

Among the works on display are a sculpture by John Duff and a painting by Richard Tinkler. Duff, originally from Indiana, utilizes fiberglass, while Tinkler’s technique involves geometric grids layered with oil paint.

Celine’s expansion in the U.S. includes five new stores opened last year in Miami, Chicago, Boston, Santa Clara, and Las Vegas. The brand’s retail presence in North America now exceeds 40 doors. Slimane’s store concept combines natural stones like gray travertine and antique marbles with warmer materials such as oak, brass, and antique mirrors.
