Retailer looks to strengthen commercial strategy amid store closures and shifting market conditions
Walgreens has appointed Jason Stenta as its new Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, effective immediately. In his role, Stenta will oversee the company’s commercial growth strategy and work on enhancing relationships with key stakeholders in the healthcare industry.
With 20 years of experience in the healthcare sector, Stenta previously held leadership roles at Optum and CVS Health. Mary Langowski, Executive Vice President and President of U.S. Healthcare at Walgreens Boots Alliance, emphasized Stenta’s strategic insight and leadership abilities, expressing confidence in his ability to drive commercial success.
The appointment comes at a time when Walgreens Boots Alliance is navigating challenges in consumer spending. The company recently announced plans to close between 650 and 700 underperforming stores in the U.S. and lowered its profit outlook for fiscal 2024.
