Eleven Artists Put Their Own Take on the Iconic Lady Dior Handbag
For the ninth edition of its Dior Lady Art project, Dior has collaborated with eleven artists from diverse backgrounds to reimagine the iconic Lady Dior handbag. This year’s lineup includes artists Sara Flores, Jeffrey Gibson, Huang Yuxing, Liang Yuanwei, Danielle McKinney, Duy Anh Nhan Duc, Hayal Pozanti, Faith Ringgold, Vaughn Spann, Anna Weyant, and Woo Kukwon. Each artist brings their unique perspective to reinterpret the timeless handbag, with the new designs set to launch starting in mid-November.
The Lady Dior, known for its refined, architectural design and signature cannage pattern, is a symbol of Dior’s blend of timeless elegance and bold innovation. Since 2016, the Lady Dior Art project has invited international artists to transform the handbag into a canvas for their creative vision. The result is a fusion of Dior’s heritage and the artist’s singular style, showcasing a blend of meticulous craftsmanship, imagination, and cultural expression.
In this edition, the artists’ reimaginings of the Lady Dior are described as “a fascinating emblem of poetic metamorphosis,” according to Dior. Each artist’s interpretation reflects their own style while embodying the house’s exploration of craft tradition and innovation.
