Dior Unveils Golf-Themed Men’s Capsule

The House Continues Its Expansion Into the World of Sports with the Vintage-Inspired Golf Collection

Dior has announced the launch of a golf-dedicated capsule collection. The collection, set to release on April 3 in conjunction with the brand’s Pre-Fall menswear collection, has been specifically crafted for younger demographics increasingly drawn to golf.

The collection, designed by Kim Jones, the artistic director of men’s collections, is conceived as an interplay between the Parisian and New York styles of the early ’80s. Dior’s recent venture into golf-centric fashion follows on the heels of the industry trend, with prominent labels such as Louis Vuitton introducing golfing gear in their collections.

Dior’s golf capsule tends to slant towards a preppy, polished style with offerings such as polo shirts, V-neck sweaters, Bermuda shorts, pleated pants, and jackets and blazers in understated check patterns. The line also includes more street-styled pieces like a velour tracksuit, windbreakers with reflective stripes, and argyle knits bearing the brand’s synonymous CD Diamond logo.

The collection contour expands with new dual-toned versions of classic Saddle, backpack, and ‘Hit the Road’ messenger bag styles. Besides, the collection boasts a logo-engraved black leather golf bag and a checkered variant of the brand’s B33 sneaker with a traditional golf-like fringed tongue.

Both Louis Vuitton and Dior are owned by luxury conglomerate LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, which has been expanding its footprint in the sports sector, most noticeably with its recent sponsorship of the Paris Olympics and the Formula 1 championship, in addition to partnerships with leading athletes.
