Loro Piana expands its U.S. retail presence with a new Westfield UTC location, introducing its latest collections to the Southern California market
Loro Piana opened its first boutique in San Diego on August 8, expanding the Italian luxury house’s retail presence in Southern California. The store is located on the main level of Westfield UTC, an open-air luxury shopping center.
The opening extends Loro Piana’s U.S. retail network into a market closely associated with Southern California’s luxury and lifestyle sectors. The boutique brings the Maison’s ready-to-wear, accessories, footwear, and textile offerings together within a single-floor retail environment.
The store’s facade features handmade terracotta ceramic tiles in Loro Piana’s signature Kummel color. The glazed tiles curve across the exterior, referencing the folds and tactile qualities of woven fabric while combining traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary architectural treatment.
Inside, the boutique follows Loro Piana’s established retail language, combining oak and carabottino wood with marble, raffia, silk wall coverings, and upholstery fabrics. The palette moves through Kummel, beige, and burgundy across the women’s areas, while navy and beige accents define the menswear spaces. Soft lighting and textured materials are used to create a residential atmosphere throughout the sales floor.
A transparent display dedicated to Loro Piana’s foulards provides a visual connection between the boutique and the surrounding shopping center. The feature highlights the textures and patterns of the Maison’s scarves while maintaining visibility into the store.
The single-level layout opens with women’s accessories and bags alongside a selection of men’s ready-to-wear. Dedicated areas for women’s collections, men’s ready-to-wear and footwear, as well as a lounge, extend the retail environment beyond product presentation and into a broader client experience.
The boutique opened with Loro Piana’s Fall Winter 2026-2027 collection, which focuses on lightweight silhouettes, layered textures, and a palette ranging from blues and vivid reds and oranges to sandy, coral, and white tones. Materials include cashmere, Baby Cashmere, The Gift of Kings®, Pecora Nera®, Merino wool, silk, tweed, mouliné, and chenille, reflecting the Maison’s continued emphasis on material development and Italian craftsmanship.
