The Mexico City fragrance house and American designer unite on an exclusive FlordeMusgo candle collaboration rooted in craftsmanship, cultural heritage and sensory storytelling
Willy Chavarria has partnered with Mexico City-based fragrance house Xinú on an exclusive edition of its signature FlordeMusgo candle, extending the designer’s creative practice into fragrance and exploring the relationship between scent, cultural identity and design. The collaboration reimagines the candle in a black vessel for the first time, finished with a custom Willy Chavarria medallion and presented in Xinú’s signature scented Wool Cocoon, produced in an exclusive black-on-black edition using sustainable wool.

The partnership reflects Chavarria’s longstanding interest in fragrance as part of his design process. Scent has informed the emotional direction of his collections, serving as a tool for developing atmosphere, memory and storytelling. The collaboration gives that interest a tangible expression through a product that brings together the designer’s visual language and Xinú’s botanical approach to perfumery.
“I’ve been a longtime admirer of the graceful connection between Xinú fragrances and nature, the spirit and the soul of Mexico. What a joy and honor it is to work with the team of creators at Xinú on this special collaboration. I hope this fragrance transcends others into the forests and the sky, as it does for me,” said Chavarria.
The two brands share an emphasis on craftsmanship, materiality and Mexican cultural heritage, although they approach those ideas through different creative disciplines. For Chavarria, whose collections frequently explore identity and personal history, fragrance offers another medium through which to communicate those themes. For Xinú, the collaboration places its botanical and sensory approach in conversation with fashion, extending the reach of its signature scent beyond the traditional fragrance category.
The candle was first introduced during Willy Chavarria’s Spring 2027 runway presentation, where Xinú’s FlordeMusgo fragrance filled the show venue, establishing scent as part of the collection’s broader environment. The collaboration is available now through Willy Chavarria’s website, with the candle offered individually or paired with a palito.
