Fall 2023 Campaign

Balenciaga Fall 2023 Campaign by Creative Director Demna

Balenciaga Fall 23 is launching with images of models in a Balenciaga store dressing room taking selfies, wearing and surrounded by pieces that make up the collection: new and updated signature pieces, innovative accessories, and studies in the realms of tailoring and sustainability. Much of the jewelry, eyewear, and outerwear shells are made with recycled elements, including silver, polyester, nylon, and polyamide, or with bio-based materials.

Balenciaga puffer, biker, skater, and varsity jackets are reinvented, experimenting with volume and materiality. Parkas become wraps and gilets; peacoats and trenches are cropped and folded under; suit jackets or shirts are enlarged and doubled over or padded, creating several reconstructed silhouettes. Sweaters include integrated gloves or are made without seams. Casual separates like tracksuits, trousers, hoodies, and T-shirts are seen in distinctive proportions and elevated fabrics, like mirror satin, fluid velvet, bleached molleton, soft leather, and rubberized mesh. Jeans are tailored with organic Japanese, indigo ring Italian or soft lefthand twill denim.

The BB Soft Bag takes suppleness to another level, folding over itself. An Hourglass Bag is reconstituted in rigid metal or completely covered in fake fur. The Beach Bag is inspired by the practice of inverting a straw hat to make a basket. Le Cagole returns as a small duffle and a belt bag. The 4×4 Bag is a pliable cube, which zips open around its midsection. The Mary-Kate Bag is a convex tote in embossed and lined leather.

The Crush Bag, Anatomic Shoe, and Home Slide are seen in new textures and sizes. The Defender returns as an allover tread clog. The Witch Boot has an exaggerated and slightly curling pointedness. The Santiago Boot adds unexpected curvature to a western style. Pumps are covered in monochromatic flower petals. The Knife Pantashoe is flesh-toned and covered with a fishnet stocking.
