The Tropy Was Designed by Artist Jade Adeyemi, to Be Presented December 2
The British Fashion Council has teamed up with Pandora and interdisciplinary artist Jade Adeyemi to create the trophy for The Fashion Awards 2024. The awards ceremony, a cornerstone event for the fashion industry, will be held on December 2 at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Organized by the BFC, the event serves as a major fundraiser for the BFC Foundation and celebrates fashion’s influence at the crossroads of culture and entertainment, spotlighting creative excellence.
Jade Adeyemi, a British-Nigerian artist and 2023 NEW WAVE: Creative honoree, was selected to design the trophy. Adeyemi’s work spans fashion, advertising, music, and experiential spatial design, making her a fitting choice for this interdisciplinary project. Her design draws inspiration from Pandora’s expertise in jewelry craftsmanship, its commitment to sustainability, and the dynamic interplay between fashion and cultural innovation. The trophy embodies themes of growth, resilience, and transformation, rooted in natural cycles.
Pandora, known for its sustainability efforts, provided 100% recycled silver for the trophy’s creation. The curved design of the award symbolizes the nonlinear paths of creative success, while its intertwined silver elements reflect the intersection of craftsmanship and environmental responsibility. A mother-of-pearl finish adds a layer of symbolism, referencing the adaptability and strength of oceanic shells. The trophy was developed using advanced computer-aided design technology, 3D printed by Creative Awards, and hand-painted by Kelly Allen to ensure each piece carries a unique, artisanal touch.
“Designing the 2024 trophy so early in my career has been a dream come true, allowing me to create a piece that honours the many talented creatives I deeply admire,” Adeyemi shared. “I wanted the trophy to resonate with me as an artist and be something people would proudly showcase in their homes. My hope is for each recipient to see this trophy as a reminder of their artistic journey, individuality, and the partnerships that have supported them along the way.”
The Fashion Awards 2024 will bring together the industry’s most prominent figures, celebrating the individuals and stories that have shaped the year in fashion.
