The House Hosted a Special Screening and Reception at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York
Lanvin presented a special film screening of Ingmar Bergman’s classic Persona at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York on the evening of December 14. The event paid tribute to the distinguished career of Academy Award-winning actress Liv Ullmann, Bergman’s muse and longtime collaborator. Academy Award-winning actress Cate Blanchett joined Ullmann to co-host the evening.
The evening began with opening remarks from Lanvin’s Deputy CEO, Siddhartha Shukla, followed by speeches from Ullmann and Blanchett. The attendees were then treated to Bergman’s iconic film, which was followed by a cocktail reception at Marea.
The relationship between Ullmann and Blanchett was notably highlighted by their previous collaboration in 2009 when Ullmann directed Blanchett in “A Streetcar Named Desire” at the Sydney Theatre Company, which later toured internationally.
This event not only highlighted Lanvin’s commitment to celebrating influential women through cinema but also underscored the brand’s ongoing influence in the worlds of fashion and film. Earlier this year, Lanvin hosted similar events, including a screening of “Sophie’s Choice” with Meryl Streep and a dinner at the Cannes Film Festival.
Notably, the evening marked a continuation of the post-pandemic activities by Alan Pepe Communications, known for its retrospective screenings that honor the achievements of prominent filmmakers.
Among the attendees were notable figures such as Marina Abramović, Hari Nef, and Lena Olin, further elevating the event’s prominence. Newly appointed Lanvin Artistic Director Peter Copping was also in attendance, alongside a host of other distinguished guests. Both Ullmann and Blanchett were dressed by Lanvin for the occasion.
