Rag & Bone Opens New Shop in Charleston, S.C.
Rag & Bone has recently opened a new store in Charleston, S.C., located at 383 King Street. The 1,905-square-foot store is a historic space that blends Charleston’s Southern culture with Rag & Bone’s signature New York style. The store, designed by Rag & Bone’s internal design team, features a mix of 60 percent women’s wear and 40 percent men’s wear.
This marks Rag & Bone’s first store in South Carolina as the company has no wholesale distribution in Charleston. The brand expects featherweight denim, dresses, Flame Ts, and Harvey sweaters to be popular items, with prices ranging from $85 to $995.
Rag & Bone aimed to preserve the original architecture when designing the Charleston store, which was originally built in 1891 and housed a hardware store and later a pizza restaurant. The store features exposed brick and steel beams, original exterior storefronts, French oak wood flooring, brass fixtures, custom hand-made shelves, a black ebonized wood table, and vintage rugs.
Located near Paige, Alice + Olivia, Yeti, Williams Sonoma, and Apple, Rag & Bone’s new store is part of the brand’s expansion plans. Besides the newly opened Charleston shop, Rag & Bone has close to 40 stores in the U.S. and U.K. and is available in 53 countries through specialty and department stores.
Looking ahead, Rag & Bone is set to open a new store in Newport Beach, Calif., in mid-to-late September and will also reopen in Aspen in late October or early November. Additionally, Robert Geller has been named head of menswear, with his first collection for fall set to launch this month.
