The Elder Statesman Celebrates SoHo Flagship Opening

An Evening Hosted By Diane Von Furstenberg, Emma Grede, Jens Grede, And Greg Chait

To mark the opening of its SoHo NY flagship store, Los Angeles-based luxury cashmere brand The Elder Statesman hosted a private dinner at Sant Ambroeus Lafayette. The event brought together prominent figures from fashion, art, and entertainment for a relaxed celebration led by hosts Greg Chait, Diane von Furstenberg, and Emma and Jens Grede.

The intimate gathering featured a bespoke patchwork cashmere blanket suspended from the ceiling, encapsulating the brand’s craftsmanship. Guests packed the restaurant, sipping Negronis and sharing stories in a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere.

Actor Morgan Spector arrived straight from set to join his wife Rebecca Hall and stylist Bailey Moon. Artists Quil Lemons, James Perkins, and Quentin Jones mingled in the main dining room, while Derek Blasberg and Mark Guiducci chatted with stylist Elizabeth Saltzman.

Models Ruby Aldridge, Lameka Fox, and Daria Strokous cheered as a Principessa cake adorned with sparklers emerged to mark the occasion. As the night wrapped up, The Elder Statesman’s signature cashmere kept guests warm as they faced the winter chill.

The event brought together a mix of personalities, including actors Morgan Spector, Rebecca Hall, Cara Buono, and Fred Hechinger, and influencers Joanna Halpin and Yan Yan Chan. Models such as Ruby Aldridge, Lameka Fox, Jean Campbell, and Daria Strokous attended alongside industry stylists Brie Welch, Danielle Goldberg, and Elizabeth Saltzman. Tastemakers included Aurora James, Derek Blasberg, Amy Astley, and Simon Huck, among others.

The flagship store, now open at 101 Crosby Street, offers a destination for design enthusiasts and cashmere aficionados alike.
