Stockholm label, Toteme, will open its first New York flagship store on July 28. Situated at 49 Mercer Street, the artful SoHo space is the label’s latest embassy and exercise in physical expression, developed in close collaboration with renowned Swedish architects and constant Toteme collaborators Halleroed. The interiors include eccentric fabrics and furniture designed by Josef Frank for iconic Stockholm interior design company Svenskt Tenn, and lighting inspired by functionalist design pioneer Gunnar Asplund.
Alongside Toteme’s collections, the store will carry a curated edit of Svenskt Tenn’s signature pewter objects, hand-picked by Elin Kling and Karl Lindman.
“The space is bold and vibrant: Toteme set in a SoHo context, created with its artistic legacy in mind. It manifests our commitment to the city and local area, while highlighting our Swedish design heritage.”
– Karl Lindman, Co-Founder, Toteme
