Review of Calvin Klein Spring 2022 Ad Campaign by Photographer Francesco Nazardo with Art Director Marina Henao and DOP Jasper de Kloet with models Elijah Lnt, Lois Devries, Nella Ngingo, and Sijmen Vellekoop
Calvin Klein shares a new campaign that sees the brand infuse its classic staples with a design sense of minimal modernism. The Spring 2022 campaign features photography by Francesco Nazardo and art direction by Marina Henao.
Nazardo captures the contemporarily minimal spring collection in airy and intimate studio portraiture, shooting in both black and white and color. The black-and-white photographs feel reminiscent of fashion editorials of the 90’s, while the color photographs bring things to the present day with their tranquilly moody gradient backgrounds.
Stylist Ferdi Sibbel does a great job in combining Calvin Klein’s various offerings (sometimes we forget they don’t just make underwear) into cohesive looks. Open-back dresses and sheer tops harmonize with the imagery’s sense of airy openness, while the occasional classically-branded underwear or bralette peeking through introduces that signature #MyCalvins intimacy.
Focused and fresh, the campaign effortlessly captures the expressive mood of the new collection as Calvin Klein continues to quietly and thoughtfully push its designs forward.
