Jean Paul Gaultier × Y/Project’s second collaboration is here. This time, Glenn Martens focuses on prints playing with the illusion of garments. 2D printed knits are placed on mesh dresses, tank tops, turtle necks, skirts maxi and mini. The mesh is elevated with knit details on sleeves and necks to maximize the constant illusion on the RTW pieces. This ‘‘Trompe l’œil’’ fascination can be found again in the campaign shot by Thomas Cristiani for Jean Paul Gaultier. Gia Bab plays with static poses on the street to accentuate the statue-like aspects, giving the right amount of drama that is also inseparable from a certain irony. A temporary malice.
