John Elliott’s opens its first international flagship at 83 Yorkville Ave in Toronto. The space serves as the brand’s sixth physical store, with frontage adjacent to prestigious boutiques along one of Canada’s most prominent retail stretches.
Spanning 2407 square feet of retail space, this location extends the design language architect Stephan Wiemer developed for the brand’s Melrose Ave, Miami, Soho, Madison Ave, and Aspen locations, refining the use of minimalist and utilitarian construction for a sophisticated presentation of men’s and women’s collections. Product represents the young luxury brand’s full range, including exquisite artisanal leather pieces, Japanese denim, premium Los Angeles-made sportswear, and an extensive Italian-produced footwear collection. An assortment of fine jewelry, developed in collaboration with cult Japanese brand M.A.R.S, remains present.
The store maintains John Elliott’s signature aesthetic through clean architectural elements including Japanese matte white tile, concrete, and iridescent fixtures. The integration of nature remains a focal point, with bamboo plants utilized to create an inviting indoor-outdoor ambiance. A natural rock garden separates individual concrete slabs, providing a textured soundscape as you navigate through the store, with an interactive quality. Adjacent to the footwear display, custom seating is inspired by mid-century design. The lighting scheme is designed to embrace natural light, with skylight fixtures throughout the space.
