Nordstrom Promotes From Within for it’s New COO
Nordstrom Inc. has announced the appointment of Alexis DePree as the new chief operating officer. DePree, who first joined Nordstrom in January 2020 as executive vice president and chief supply chain officer, previously held senior leadership roles at Amazon and Target.
In her new role, DePree will be responsible for supporting supply chain operations, transportation, inventory operations, enterprise operations, and store operations. She holds a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from Northwestern University and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
“With Alexis’s support, our teams have made meaningful progress in several different areas: we’ve strengthened our supply chain network, dramatically improved our speed to customer, and reduced costs,” said the company in its announcement.
Nordstrom recently reported a first-quarter revenue increase of 4.8% to $3.34 billion, exceeding expectations. The company also posted a quarterly loss of 24 cents, higher than estimates of an 8-cent loss.
