RJ Cilley Departs Saks Fifth Avenue As COO

Cilley to Lead Philadelphia-Based Online Distributor Voomi Supply

RJ Cilley, former chief operating officer of Saks, has left the luxury retail website to become the chief executive officer of Voomi Supply, an online distributor of HVAC, plumbing, heating, and electrical supplies based in Philadelphia.

Cilley had a 12-year tenure at Saks and its parent company, HBC. During his time there, he played a significant role in re-platforming Saks.com in October 2020 and launching the Saks.com marketplace in 2021. He also advanced the company’s digital business through the use of AI. As COO since January 2021, Cilley oversaw various aspects of the business, including the marketplace format, fulfillment, customer service, item lifecycle, international operations, fraud prevention, photo studios, technology, and India operations.

“After 12 years with HBC and Saks, RJ Cilley has made the decision to step down from his role as Saks’ COO to pursue a CEO opportunity at another company. We have a plan in place to fill the COO role,” a Saks spokesperson said. “In the interim, we have our strong operations leadership in place to ensure a smooth transition. We thank RJ for all of his contributions to our company and wish him all the best in his next chapter.”

Before his role as COO at Saks, Cilley served as chief digital officer at HBC and was senior vice president for digital, operations, and new ventures. He also held positions as chief of staff and director of corporate development at HBC. Before his tenure at HBC, Cilley was an investment banking analyst at BMO Capital Markets and an associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory.

On his LinkedIn page, Cilley commented on his transition to Voomi Supply, noting, “I am doing something very different but also something similar.” This new role marks his first as CEO.
