The Basketball Star Brought His Personal Flair to Outerwear, with Activations and More Collabs to Follow
Canada Goose has partnered with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, often characterized as one the NBA’s most stylish players for his distinct and charismatic fashion sense, for a one-of-a-kind co-designed jacket. This new piece is inspired by one of the brand’s popular year-round items, the Faber Hoody.
Blending Canada Goose’s commitment to high-level craftsmanship with Gilgeous-Alexander’s bold streetwear flair, the jacket reimagines the classic windbreaker with fresh energy. The design introduces a cropped silhouette and built-in shoulder pads, adding dimension and unexpected expression. The jacket also features a striking Watercolor camo print, an extended collar, longer sleeves, and a personalized ‘s2’ embroidery to honor Shai’s illustrious career.
“Working with Canada Goose was a great experience. I got to recreate the Faber hoody and add my own spin to it. The 1 of 1 jacket is now a staple in my closet,” Gilgeous-Alexander shared.
Though only one bespoke jacket was crafted exclusively for Shai, fans of both Canada Goose and the basketball star have an opportunity to own the final design prototype by signing up for a raffle through the brand’s website. Open to residents in Canada (excluding Quebec), the United States, and the United Kingdom, the contest runs from August 19 to September 3.
This collaboration marks the beginning of a broader partnership between Canada Goose and Gilgeous-Alexander, with future projects planned that aim to explore new intersections between sports and fashion.
