Replete with whimsy and symmetry inspired by Italian cinema and the work of Wes Anderson, the film follows the staff and guests of an elegant hotel nestled in the Italian mountains. As more guests arrive and everything seems to be going wrong, the dashing porter keeps his cool and makes sure the sophisticated celebration goes off without a hitch. Along the way, moments of humor and connection unfold among the expansive cast of characters, before the film reaches its celebratory climax as the ball ensues.
