Michael Kors Collection Opens New Madison Avenue Boutique

With an Emphasis on Accessories, the New York Boutique Replaces the Designer’s Previous Store One Block Away

Michael Kors has debuted a new Michael Kors Collection boutique at 667 Madison Avenue in New York City, marking the East Coast introduction of the designer’s revamped store concept. The store, located at the corner of 61st Street, officially opens on December 5, replacing the previous, larger location at 790 Madison Avenue.

“New York City is my home, and I’m very excited to bring our new vision to a new location on Madison Avenue,” said Michael Kors. “The store’s interior has a welcoming feel, a sense of luxury and refinement that offers you a chance to step away from the speed of city life and take some time to discover something new.”

The new 2,800-square-foot boutique is designed to evoke the ambiance of a luxurious private residence. Its interior features 14-foot ceilings with a sculptural aesthetic, complemented by a Modernist mobile by Brooklyn artist Max Simon and an oversized Noguchi lamp in the shoe salon. The design combines materials such as wood, blackened steel, raw concrete, antique brass, and oxidized maple for a neutral yet textured palette. White and black marble sheets contrast with pale wood flooring, creating a sleek yet warm environment.

Walnut shelving and blackened steel racks display the Michael Kors Collection of handbags, accessories, and ready-to-wear pieces, while a shoe salon and seating area provide a refined shopping experience. The store’s minimalist façade includes tall rectangular windows and a glass entrance that floods the interior with natural light and offers high visibility from the street.
