The dominance of red shows no signs of diminishing next season with designers looking to the primary bright as a fail-safe colour for outerwear and one-and-done maxi dresses.
Known for its positive connotations that hover around the emotions of power and passion, reds energising effects tie-in with the underlying theme of joy that was seen across the runways. Red leather was rendered in jackets, dresses and head-to-toe sets at Calvin Klein, Isabel Marant, Ferragamo and the Situationist. Satin and chiffon gave the colour a soft tactility at Chloé, Mithridate, and Celine. But, it will be the floor length red dress that will push the agenda for both night – at Fendi and Valentino – and day in textured knits seen at Alaïa, Ulla Johnson, Chanel, and Diotima.
