Prada Frames Returns to Milan Design Week With “In Sight” Symposium

The fifth edition of Prada Frames examines image-making as a cultural, political, and material force through a three-day program of talks, performances, and site-specific visits at Santa Maria delle Grazie

Prada has unveiled the fifth edition of Prada Frames, its annual symposium curated by design and research studio Formafantasma, to run alongside Milan’s Salone del Mobile. Titled In Sight, the 2026 program focuses on image-making and the growing influence of images across culture, politics, technology, and public life.

Held from April 18 to 20 at the historic complex of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, the symposium continues Prada’s strategy of aligning its brand with intellectual discourse and interdisciplinary exchange rather than product-led programming. This year’s edition examines how images shape perception, circulate through algorithmic systems, and carry environmental and labor costs often obscured by digital culture.

Lectures and conversations will address themes including photography as evidence, machine vision, political propaganda, attention economies, and the relationship between images and identity. Speakers include Paola Antonelli, Hans Ulrich Obrist, Kate Crawford, Deborah Willis, Wendy Hui Kyong Chun, Jonas Staal, Alfredo Jaar, Mark Leckey, and Hania Rani, who will also perform in a special evening session inside the Basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie.

The program also introduces performative visits through the architectural complex, led by Natalia Grabowska, in which invited participants respond to the site through readings connected to the symposium’s themes. Guided access to the Sacrestia, a Renaissance space traditionally attributed to Bramante, further ties the event’s contemporary subject matter to a significant historical setting.

Launched in 2022, Prada Frames has become an increasingly visible component of the brand’s wider cultural agenda, previously addressing forestry, material ethics, domestic life, and infrastructure. By centering critical inquiry during one of design’s most commercially charged weeks, Prada continues to position itself at the intersection of luxury, ideas, and contemporary relevance.

Admission to Prada Frames In Sight is complimentary upon registration through Prada’s website, beginning April 13.
