First seen on the Fall 2026 runway, the architectural new silhouette combines an accordion construction with Ferragamo’s Italian leather craftsmanship
Ferragamo introduces the Cara Bag, a new leather goods silhouette first presented on the House’s Fall/Winter 2026 runway. Combining an architectural profile with a focus on functionality, the design draws on Ferragamo’s longstanding leather craftsmanship while introducing a new signature to its accessories offering.
The Cara is structured around a three-gusset accordion construction, which gives the bag its sculptural profile while allowing its interior to expand. A central zipped compartment is flanked by two additional sections, while a concealed front zip pocket and rear slip pocket add organization without disrupting the exterior’s clean geometry. Ferragamo’s Gancini closure anchors the front of the design, integrating one of the House’s most recognizable codes into the otherwise restrained silhouette.
That apparent simplicity belies a particularly involved construction process. Each Cara comprises more than 100 individual components, including 25 precisely cut leather panels, and requires approximately ten hours of work by Ferragamo artisans. More than 23 meters of thread go into assembling each bag, making the technical labor behind its sharp lines an important part of the proposition.
The Cara launches in a selection of materials carried over from the runway, including smooth calf leather, eel, and alligator. Its color and material variations offer different expressions of the same tightly controlled architecture, from the relative understatement of calfskin to more textural exotic finishes.
With the Cara, Ferragamo continues to make craftsmanship visible not through overt embellishment but through precision. The accordion construction, carefully integrated hardware, and considerable handwork allow the bag’s complexity to remain largely beneath the surface — a fitting approach for a House whose leather expertise has long depended on making technically demanding objects appear effortless.
The Ferragamo Cara Bag became available beginning in August 2026 at Ferragamo boutiques worldwide, online, and through selected retail partners.
