Anya Hindmarch Brings Gifting Agency to California

Anya Hindmarch Brings Its Gifting Concept to the U.S.

The British Brand Partners With The Country Marts for Temporary Stores in Brentwood and Marin, Bringing Anya’s Gifting Agency to California for the Holiday Season

Anya Hindmarch is bringing its playful approach to experiential retail to California, partnering with The Country Marts on two temporary stores in Brentwood and Marin.

The partnership introduces Anya’s Gifting Agency, the brand’s new festive retail concept, to the U.S. The Brentwood Country Mart location is now open as a takeover of the shopping village’s Trading Post, housed within its post office, while a three-month pop-up at Marin Country Mart opens this weekend.

Built around Hindmarch’s longstanding fascination with the ritual of giving, the concept brings together all four areas of the brand — Mainline, Bespoke, Anya Travel and Anya Life — under one roof for the Thanksgiving and holiday season.

Rather than organizing the stores simply around product categories, Anya’s Gifting Agency approaches shopping through the recipient. The idea is to help customers find something personal for everyone from the notoriously difficult-to-buy-for to someone in need of sleep, a hug, a break, a holiday or simply a little spoiling.

That sense of personality carries into the stores themselves. The spaces borrow from the visual language of an old-fashioned service business, with burgundy, red and white, heritage typography, handwritten-style script and nostalgic details creating the fictional world of a traditional gifting agency. Personalized, white-glove service completes the concept.

The Country Marts provide a fitting American setting. The open-air shopping villages are built around independent boutiques, restaurants and old-fashioned services arranged around central courtyards, giving the collaboration a neighborhood quality that aligns with Hindmarch’s increasingly experiential approach to retail.

The California openings also extend a strategy Anya Hindmarch has developed particularly visibly in London, where stores have become places for experimentation beyond conventional luxury retail. Food, personalization, homewares and temporary concepts have allowed the brand to turn shopping into something closer to an ongoing series of experiences.

In Brentwood and Marin, that approach is being translated for a local audience through an established community retail partner rather than a traditional standalone rollout.

At its heart, however, the idea remains straightforward: make the often complicated business of holiday shopping feel more personal — and considerably more fun.
