Alaïa Releases Fourth Dialogue: A Visual Archive by Anthony Seklaoui

Mörel publishes an exclusive book documenting Pieter Mulier’s first chapter at the Maison

Alaïa has announced the release of Alaïa by Seklaoui, the latest in its Dialogue series, created in collaboration with photographer Anthony Seklaoui. Published by Mörel, the limited-edition book provides an inside look at the creative process behind Pieter Mulier’s collections for the Maison. The visual record concludes with Mulier’s Winter Spring 25 show at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, marking a significant moment in his tenure.

The book stems from a three-year collaboration between Mulier and Seklaoui, rooted in their shared focus on raw beauty. Throughout this period, Seklaoui captured intimate moments from fittings, backstage preparations, and runway presentations. His unfiltered photography showcases the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and dedication behind each collection.

“This book is a mapping of the feelings culminating in a show. It records all the hands, minds, and crafts coming together to create the secret chemistry of a collection,” writes Mulier in the preface.

Seklaoui’s perspective shifts throughout the book, moving closer to the garments, textures, and models over time. Mulier reflects on the photographer’s ability to capture the unseen elements of a collection’s creation: “Anthony has a remarkable eye, one that can extract beauty from the chaos. Alaïa by Seklaoui is a tribute to our friendship, but most of all to all those who contribute to the magic of a collection coming to life. The ateliers, the teams, the production, the girls walking the show—all those who are part of the Alaïa circle.”

Alaïa will mark the book’s launch with a signing event at its new flagship store at 15 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris on February 13, beginning at 7:00 PM.
