There have been a few false starts, but Boho Chic is officially back for Fall 2024 as confirmed by Chemena Kamali’s debut collection at Chloé, which featured the ultimate It girl of the movement Sienna Miller on her front row. Following the appointment of Kamali as the new creative director, who has a long history with the brand having served under Phoebe Philo during her tenure and sharing an uncanny knack for embodying the Chloé girl look, she brought back the beloved bohemian aesthetic with gusto. As the brands noughties-era signature billowing maxi dresses and brushed check outerwear, over-the-knee boots and camera bag made a welcome return. And with the assembling of the ultimate multi-generational boho chic ambassadors – Clemence Poesy, Pat and Anna Cleveland, Jerry Hall and Georgia-May Jagger – also in the front row, expect to see this trend grow in the seasons to come.
Multi-layered prints and textures such as velvet are all helping to usher in a new era for the trend, which has a much more elevated feel due to its reintroduction during the fall season. Rich burgundy’s and earthy greens are lightened through their use on chiffons and silk jerseys at Etro and Burberry, while furs and textured knits which have also been fully embraced add a comforting tactile layer to the look.
