Review of Chanel Pre-Fall 2024 Ad Campaign by Photographer Karim Sadli with model Camila Morrone
Chanel leans into classic evening elegance with its new Pre-Fall 2024 campaign by photographer Karim Sadli.
The house’s latest collection launch is embodied by Camilla Morrone, who brings sparkle and light to the setting of an elegant Paris bistro despite the moody drama of Sadli’s black-and-white photographic perspective. Handsome beaus in tuxedo appear on either side of her, suggesting a black-tie soiree, but the focus remains squarely on the way she evokes a contemporary incarnation of a classic Chanel character.
Executing a classic narrative concept with poise and complex visual execution to introduce a subtle thread of narrative, the campaign feels iconically Chanel. We may be eagerly awaiting the announcement of a new creative director, but the brand’s iconic spirit hasn’t gone anywhere.
