Dazed and Versace Celebrate the Launch of the Odissea Sneaker from Versace
Taking over a warehouse in Echo Park, Dazed and Versace welcomed guests to a new venue dramatically transformed by lighting, haze and the iconic Versace Medusa head which was projected floor to ceiling on the facade of the building and throughout the space. A bespoke mirrored fixture showcased the brand new Odissea sneaker, while the acclaimed visual artist Robb Ross programmed a retro futuristic light installation that hung above the dance floor creating a high-impact atmosphere like that of the new Odissea sneaker. The night was soundtracked by a stellar line-up of DJs which included Heron Preston, Siobhan Bell and BAE BAE.
Guests in attendance included Cole Sprouse, Normani, Shay Mitchell, Ross Butler, Rickey Thompson, Taylour Paige, Soo Joo Park, Lucky Blue Smith, Princess Nokia, Kathryn Newton, Jurnee Smollett, Chandler Kinney, Symone, Gigi Goode, Algee Smith, Devon & Sydney Carlson, Olivia Scott Welch, Lil Dre, Na-kel Smith, Salem Mtchell, Soko and Quincy Isaiah.
Guests enjoyed food from local favourites Uncle Paulie’s Deli who served some of their classic Italian inspired sandwiches alongside cocktails including a Spicy Paloma, Summer Dreaming and a Negroni, hard seltzers from Everyday Weekend plus a selection of signature non-alcoholic aperitivo drinks from Ghia.
Odissea from Versace features basketball sneaker elements cut-through with futuristic line punctuations and a 3D rubber Medusa plaque that defines the silhouette. Its clean, sharp lines recall the shape of an aerodynamic cycling helmet or dynamic future spacecraft, inspired in its architectural shape by celestial travel and the stars, in a distinctly positive take on futuristic design and fashion.
