Review of Fendi Men’s Fall 2020 Ad Campaign by Photographer Josh Hight, Stylist Julian Ganio with Model Jethro Sapon
Fendi unveils a simple yet cinematic new men’s campaign for Fall 2020. Photographer Josh Hight elegantly captures the subtle sense of retro-futurism suggested by Silvia Venturini Fendi’s classically inspired designs.
Silvia Venturini Fendi seems to have taken a back-to-basics approach to the collection, focusing on beautifully tailored jackets and classic house codes. Yet she modernizes these elements by weaving in forward-thinking accessories like boxy bags and printed sunglasses.
Hight echoes this aesthetic of classic sophistication with his photography work. His portraits have a cinematic grandeur to them; he manages to communicate a sense of character and drama through his arrangements of still images. Julian Ganio’s thoughtful and cohesive styling work also goes a long way in reinforcing the sense of rhythm and narrative. Finally, smart layout and art direction ties it all together beautifully.
