Giorgio Armani serves up a classically Italian blend of elegance and sexiness with the new Summer 2023 campaign for the brand’s Mare swimwear line. The campaign was shot by photographers Bruno and Nico Van Mossevelde with videography by Francesco Petroni.
In glimmering hues of beige, silver, and blue, the imagery creates an enticing mood of tension – both of the surface and sexual varieties – through the body language of its hunky and elegant models, serving up an aspirational narrative of indulgent summertime luxury.
The accompanying video uses quickly shifting musical cues, swirling camera work, and the set piece of a vintage muscle car to balance out the more relaxed photography with high-octane energy, pointing out that a perfect summer vacation is just as much about the journey as the destination.
It’s a simple yet potent campaign that does a great job of painting with just a few brushstrokes a rich and recognizable visual narrative of aspirational glamor.
