Gucci to Show Cruise 2025 in London

Sabato De Sarno Will Debut his First Cruise Collection in the British Capital in May

Gucci has announced that it will present its Cruise 2025 collection in London on May 13th of this year. The runway show will be the new creative director’s first Cruise collection, first international outing, and first co-ed show.

Continuing De Sarno’s return to the house’s history and archives, the choice location forms a nod to the origins of Gucci, as Guccio Gucci was inspired to explore the art of luggage making and eventually launch the house when he worked as a porter at the city’s famous Savoy Hotel. A statement from the brand read, “The choice of location pays tribute to Gucci’s profound connection to the British capital, intrinsically linked to the brand’s heritage, and offers new opportunities to delve into the integral role the city has played in shaping the brand’s narrative throughout its storied history as a world-renowned symbol of Italian craft, visionary creativity, and innovative design.”

The announcement continues the trend among major houses of showing Cruise collections in a destination city, often incorporating local craft and aesthetic traditions into the brand’s own oeuvre. Gucci’s previous Cruise collection, which was designed by an in-house team during the interval between creative directors, was shown in Seoul.
