Jimmy Choo has officially launched the second installment of its collaboration with Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, a collection inspired by the popular manga series created by Naoko Takeuchi. The collection expands on the Sailor Moon universe, featuring designs that showcase the distinct characteristics of the Sailor Guardians, through shoes, bags, and accessories.
The campaign was designed by YOSHIROTTEN’s Tokyo-based studio YAR, incorporating both visuals and videos that spotlight the personalities of the ten Sailor Guardians alongside the designs. The use of vibrant colors and animated elements ties together the core values shared by Jimmy Choo and the super heroines of Sailor Moon.
“I love what Sailor Moon represents – the power that comes from femininity, a strength found through unity, the belief that you can protect the good. I find those ideas inspiring, and it continues to amaze me how Sailor Moon touches and inspires so many people around the world,” said Sandra Choi, Jimmy Choo’s Creative Director.
Naoko Takeuchi, the creator of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, expressed her excitement for the collaboration, particularly praising the design elements of the outer planet guardians and multicolored products. “I am very happy to be able to collaborate again this year. In particular, I love the shoes of the guardians of outer planets, and the multicolored products,” she said.
The collection includes five key footwear designs, each directly inspired by the costumes of the Sailor Guardians. Each Sailor Guardian’s planet symbol is incorporated into the designs, creating a unique collectible element. The Avenue Vanity Bag, available in ten variations featuring portraits of each Sailor Guardian, serves as a central piece in the collection. Other signature items include phone holders, card holders, and AirPod cases, featuring original manga artwork by Takeuchi. The Luna-P ball, a distinct item from the series, is reimagined as a minaudière in smooth resin and crystal-encrusted finishes.
This collaboration continues Jimmy Choo’s trend of incorporating pop culture into its designs, as seen in previous partnerships like the limited-edition Polly Pocket Heart bag. The Sailor Moon collection is available now at select Jimmy Choo boutiques and online.
The second installment of Jimmy Choo x Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon is available globally, with prices ranging from €120 to €690.
