Menswear and Womenswear Collections Debut with Innovative Denim Designs
Kiko Kostadinov and Levi’s have partnered on their first collaborative project, introducing capsule collections for both Menswear and Womenswear. Each collection made its debut as part of the mainline’s Paris fashion shows earlier this year in March and June 2024, respectively.
For the Menswear collection, Kiko Kostadinov reinterpreted Levi’s iconic Engineered Jeans from the 1990s. This reimagining includes a new knee and elbow darting construction, featuring diamond inserts inspired by traditional Bulgarian motifs. These design elements are incorporated into both the jacket and trousers, adding functional ventilation through eyelets within the diamond panels. The collection reflects Kostadinov’s blend of conceptual design and utilitarian functionality, especially highlighted in its first venture into denim. A hybrid jersey style, influenced by classic sportswear cardigans and western shirts, completes the Menswear capsule with asymmetric front openings, side patch pockets, and top stitching.
The Womenswear capsule collection, designed by Laura and Deanna Fanning, brings celebrated Levi’s designs into the Kiko Kostadinov woman’s wardrobe. The collection focuses on the three-piece denim suit and Levi’s engineered garments, using materials washed in umber tones and featuring fuzzy textures and stripes. The jeans offer a relaxed fit, while the Denim Jacket is designed with a dual mode, showcasing large shaped sleeves and a darted waist-cinching gilet overlay.
