Louis Vuitton is preparing for summer with an ad campaign for the Capucines bag, featuring new details and finishes photographed by Craig McDean with styling by Marie-Amélie Sauvé. The Capucines bag’s colourful plexiglass handles and a wide cross-body strap are the focus of the campaign, shot simply and elegantly in an upscale, outdoor setting. Since the model is photographed alone and within an enclosed space, one might wonder if this was shot quite recently as it seems to conform to the prescribed rules of social distancing. However the photos were likely shot in tandem with an earlier grouping of Spring bag colours, as there are similar images shot by McDean in California that were released back in February. The desert plants and mountain vistas in the background add a relaxing and sunny vibe reminiscent of David Hockney’s famous Hollywood pool paintings, only this time the skinny-dippers have been replaced by a chic fair-haired young woman and her bag collection. Magnifique!
