Review of McQueen Holiday 2024 Ad Campaign
McQueen keeps the candle burning with its Holiday 2024 campaign, a simple yet cleverly composed look at the brand’s gift assortment.
While the campaign largely takes shape as still-life product imagery, the compositions position the season’s star accessories amid a myriad of gothically globular dripping candles, pointing ever so slightly to a sense of narrative and drama. Several of the shots also include actual legs and feet wearing the shoes – but we never see the rest of those bodies.
It’s still quite early in Seán McGirr’s tenure as creative director at McQueen, so it might be a missed opportunity not to take the need for a holiday marketing moment as a chance for stronger storytelling and visual perspective. Nonetheless, the simple imagery does form a solid showcase of the house’s seasonal highlights.
