Taking the Bow: Designers of Fall 2025 Men’s Shows

Personality and Pride as the Creative Directors Take to the Runway for a Victory Lap at Men’s Fall 2025

While the runway is of course a stage for the collections themselves and the models who bring them to life, it’s also the home of another enduring fashion tradition: the creative director’s bow. Whether it’s a brief appearance or a full-on victory lap, this moment of celebration and acknowledgement offers a unique window into the face and personality behind a brand’s driving creative force – and can even rival the collection itself in terms of social media impact.

Certainly the most memorable post-show moment this season was when Jordanluca’s designers Luca Marchetto and Jordan Bowen got married right on the runway – a first for Milan fashion week.

These personalities are part of a brand’s story, and it’s always intriguing and exciting to how a designer’s bow might reflect the character of the work they just showed: Yohji Yamamoto’s adorable and humble two-handed wave, Walter Van Beirendonck reiterating the message of his latest collection – and all of his collections – with a peace sign. After his final collection as the lead designer at Kolor, the brand he founded, Junichi Abe pensively paced the runway, as if soaking it in one last time. Woman designers known for a deep understanding of the details in menswear, Woo Youngmi and Véronique Nichanian for Hermès both gave a simple, genuine smile and a wave.
