A sculptural tribute to the American artist’s iconic work
German handbag brand TSATSAS, led by designer duo Esther and Dimitrios Tsatsas, announced the launch of their CY shoulder bag, inspired by American artist Cy Twombly’s sculpture Cycnus. The bag mimics the form of a palm leaf fanning out around a central point, echoing the balance of Twombly’s work.
The CY bag, with its semicircular body and rectangular flap, features a soft navy blue lamb nappa lining and an adjustable shoulder strap for versatile styling. First introduced in 2017, the CY bag has been reimagined alongside a smaller version, the CY S, with subtle design tweaks. Both models are handcrafted in TSATSAS’ family-run workshop in Offenbach, Germany.
The CY collection is available in select international fashion stores and online, with prices starting at 780 EUR/USD 925 for the CY S and 1050 EUR/USD 1250 for the CY.
