Spring 2024 Ad Campaign

Review of Victoria Beckham Spring 2024 Ad Campaign by Photographer Juergen Teller with model Vilma Sjöberg

Victoria Beckham reunites with photographer Juergen Teller for an enigmatic and elegant Spring 2024 campaign.

Spanning over two decades, Teller’s friendship and sporadic creative partnership with Beckham began in 1998 when the renowned German photographer shot the now iconic portraits of the newly engaged Beckhams for Vogue. Since then, the pair reunited in 2008 for Marc Jacob’s famous “paper bag” in which Beckham starred, which the pair recreated for Victoria’s own ten-year brand anniversary campaign in 2018. Most recently, Teller captured models backstage at the designer’s Spring 2023 show, her first show in Paris that marked something of a renaissance for the brand.

This latest collaborative endeavor sees the photographer again chameleonically occupy his signature space between spontaneous, almost low-brow street photography and enigmatic fine art photography. He captures model Vilma Sjöberg in a charming courtyard dappled by shadow and afternoon sunlight, where she holds found tree branches in the same elegant attitude with which she carries handbags in other images.

Combining a sophisticated aesthetic and an alluring sense of secrecy with a grounded feeling of reality, the campaign is an exciting new chapter in Victoria Beckham and Juergen Teller’s ongoing collaboration and a strong way to lean into and further the brand’s recent momentum.
