Fall 2026 Ad Campaign

A Life in Millimeters

Review of Zegna Fall 2026 “Su Misura” Ad Campaign by Artistic Director Alessandro Sartori with model Mads Mikkelsen

Luxury keeps asking people to believe in value, and Zegna’s Fall 2026 Su Misura campaign offers a remarkably persuasive reason to do so: a jacket can carry workmanship, memory, and the shape of a family across time.

Under Artistic Director Alessandro Sartori, the house casts global ambassador Mads Mikkelsen as a father bringing one of his jackets to a tailor. He wants it altered for his son. The premise is simple enough to feel true, and its emotional force grows from that simplicity. A private act of care becomes an expression of everything Su Misura represents. The jacket was made for one body, lived in by that body, and entrusted to another.

Value and values meet in the fitting room. Zegna makes a commercial case for quality through the language of family, continuity, and responsibility. A garment earns significance through the knowledge required to create it and the life it is capable of accompanying. Its longevity also becomes evidence of affection. The father has kept it. The son will carry it forward. The tailor makes that passage possible.

This gives craftsmanship an unusually meaningful role. Luxury campaigns frequently show hands cutting cloth, setting stitches, or burnishing leather. Here, those actions have narrative consequence. The tailor must study what the jacket has been and imagine what it can become. A quarter inch, the pitch of a shoulder, and the roll of a lapel become decisions about memory. Alteration emerges as a form of interpretation, preserving the father’s presence while making room for the son’s identity.

There is something moving in the idea that an object made with extraordinary precision can remain open to change. Made-to-measure becomes made-to-endure. The garment survives because another pair of skilled hands can revisit it, understand it, and prepare it for a different life. This is a far more compelling expression of sustainability than the usual corporate vocabulary. Longevity gains a face, a purpose, and someone waiting to inherit it.

Mikkelsen is ideal for this story. His composure gives the campaign gravity, while his established relationship with Zegna makes the gesture feel connected to a longer personal history. He plays the custodian of the jacket with quiet conviction. The real emotional exchange occurs between father, tailor, son, and garment, a chain of trust in which every participant carries part of the meaning.

The accompanying language occasionally reaches for grandeur. The concrete gesture keeps the emotion grounded. Even the house’s inherited maxim, “a man in a suit thinks differently,” finds renewed relevance through the fitting. Clothing can influence posture, attention, and the way someone recognizes himself. The campaign understands that such transformations often happen quietly, in the few seconds before a person turns away from the mirror.

Zegna has created an impactful argument for luxury because it addresses quality and family through the same idea: care. Care for material, care for craft, care for the person standing in front of the tailor, and care for the person who may stand there years later. Su Misura becomes a way of preparing an object for experiences its first owner will never have.

Perhaps that is the true measure of a great garment. How well does it fit the life being lived now, and how gracefully can it make room for the life that follows?
