SAINT LAURENT builds a bridge from season to season with their latest Fall 2016 AD CAMPAIGN


In the wave of fashion month a bridge was built by the house of Saint Laurent to transition from the end of an era to the beginning of a new one as designer Anthony Vaccarello took the reigns. That transition was unveiled both in the recent stellar collection as well as the designers first full campaign for the house featuring Anja Rubik lensed by photo duo Inez & Vinoodh.

In the campaign a scantly clad Rubik takes to the iconic banks of the Seine in black and white. The tone of the campaign transitions naturally from the one set by the former designer, Hedi Slimane who lensed the campaigns himself under his watch. Vaccarello and Inez & Vinoodh were wise to maintain a sense of punked up bravado while evolving the look to be their own while respecting the work that came before. As Rubik strolls across the bridges of the Seine, one can’t help but feel the character is simply strolling home in the morning after a full evening of enjoying the riches Paris has to offer.

The bridges in Paris have always been a source of inspiration and a metaphor for love in the City of Light, we at The Impression look forward to Saint Laurent’s continued journey now that they have crossed them.
