Review of Fendi Men’s Fall 2023 Ad Campaign by Creative Director and Film Director Nico Vascellari
with talent Nicholas Galitzine
Nicholas Galitzine debuts as Fendi’s first menswear ambassador in a cozy and suave F/W 23-24 campaign. Nico Vascellari, a longtime collaborator of the brand, returns as art and film director. Bruno Staub was the photographer.
This collection enlivens Fendi’s distinct classicism with a striking attention to material. A broad-lapelled jacket glistens with disco-ball tones; paillettes add a touch of lightness to a double-breasted overcoat. Galitzine, who starred in the Netflix romance Purple Hearts, is at ease (if a bit impish) in the campaign’s photo and video work.
The collection was designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi, and she preserves her family’s renown. It is classic Fendi. Jacquard FF motifs adorn a larger iteration of the house’s famous Baguette bag. In one shot, Galitzine is enveloped by a fluffy, sensual leather jacket—an innovative take on a material the house is known. Cashmere, another favorite of brand, returns in a ribbed sweater.
This collection fosters a longing for sophisticated comfort in a successful collaboration with Nicholas Galitzine, whose playfulness freshens the subdued.
