The Full Lineup Includes Returns From Valentino and Balmain
The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode has shared the provisional schedule for Paris Men’s Fashion Week Fall 2024. The event is set to run from January 16th to the 21st, and features a hectic calendar showcasing the best of French and international menswear talent.
The season kicks off with the show of LMVH Prize finalist Burç Akyol and closes with the return of GmbH. Also returning to the Paris Men’s runway for the first time since early 2020 and the beginning of the Covid pandemic are Valentino and Balmain. During that time, Valentino opted for co-ed shows and then showed men’s in Milan in June, while Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing revealed his men’s collections through showroom appointments.
Building on the hype of two shows that were all about spectacle, Pharrell Williams’ third collection for Louis Vuitton will be presented on the evening of the week’s opening day. As Matthew M. Williams and Givenchy announced they would be parting ways earlier this month, the house will unveil a collection designed by its studio on the afternoon of the 17th.
Overall, the provisional calendar offered few changes, save for the move of Rick Owens to 10 a.m. on Jan. 18, with Issey Miyake taking the 12:30 p.m. spot.
Ziggy Chen and Auralee, brands that were consistently showing off-calendar during Paris Men’s week via appointment runway shows and presentations, are both joining the official calendar this season.
Brands that typically show during Paris Men’s week that will be sitting out this season include Études, Ludovic de Saint Sernin (who is expected to show in February), and Marine Serre, who announced she would unveil her men’s collection as a lookbook alongside a women’s runway show during the ready-to-wear season.
