The House Launches Three-Year Sponsorship With the New York Museum Through Fashion, Exhibitions, and Public Programming
Louis Vuitton will present its Cruise 2027 collection on May 20, 2026, at The Frick Collection in New York City, marking the beginning of a three-year cultural sponsorship between the French luxury house and the historic museum.
Designed by Nicolas Ghesquière, Artistic Director of women’s collections, the show will take place within the Upper East Side institution’s historic first-floor galleries, becoming the first fashion presentation ever staged in that section of the museum. Housed in one of Manhattan’s last remaining Gilded Age mansions, The Frick Collection will provide a setting that brings together fashion, architecture, and fine art in dialogue.

The partnership extends beyond the runway. Beginning in June 2026, Louis Vuitton will sponsor the museum’s free monthly evening access program through “Louis Vuitton First Fridays,” offering complimentary admission on the first Friday of each month, excluding January and September, through May 2027.
The House will also serve as lead sponsor for the Frick’s next three major exhibitions. These include Siena: The Art of Bronze, 1450–1500, opening in October 2026; a spring 2027 exhibition dedicated to French enameler Susanne de Court; and a forthcoming monographic exhibition of nineteenth-century painting scheduled for late 2027 into early 2028.
In addition, Louis Vuitton will support a two-year curatorial research position at the museum. The newly established Louis Vuitton Curatorial Research Associate role will be held by Yifu Liu, whose work focuses on artistic exchange between Europe and China during the eighteenth century. The research will examine themes within the Frick’s collection, including the decorative arts and fashion of the courts of Louis XV, Louis XVI, and the Qianlong Emperor.
“Presenting the Cruise collection at The Frick Collection offers a unique dialogue between contemporary creation and such a remarkable artistic setting,” said Nicolas Ghesquière. “It also marks the beginning of a meaningful relationship with an institution devoted to excellence and cultural heritage, further affirming Louis Vuitton’s commitment to engaging with art spaces that inspire and elevate creative expression.”
The announcement continues Louis Vuitton’s longstanding practice of staging Cruise collections within architecturally and culturally significant landmarks around the world. Previous locations have included the Musée du Louvre in Paris, the Palais des Papes in Avignon, the Oscar Niemeyer Museum of Contemporary Art in Brazil, and the TWA Flight Center in New York.
With the Frick partnership, Louis Vuitton deepens its ongoing investment in the intersection of fashion and cultural institutions, positioning the Cruise 2027 presentation as both a runway event and a broader institutional collaboration rooted in public access, scholarship, and the arts.
