Alaïa Opens New Flagship in Paris

15 Faubourg Combines Craftsmanship, Intimacy, and Artistry

Alaïa has opened a flagship boutique at 15 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris, marking the completion of the Maison’s trilogy of Parisian addresses. Joining the historic locations on Rue de Moussy and Rue de Marignan, the new space balances the brand’s heritage with its evolving narrative.

The boutique’s design is the work of architects Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa in collaboration with Pieter Mulier, offering a contemporary perspective on luxury. The architecture evokes Alaïa’s design ethos, blending art, fashion, and craftsmanship into a unified concept.

The space draws inspiration from the silhouette of Alaïa’s signature “second skin” designs. The ground floor features four transparent tubular rooms in soft pink tones, each showcasing specific collections of garments and accessories. Display podiums position individual items as works of art, while a curved glass façade reflects the surrounding streetscape, creating a seamless visual connection between the interior and its environment.

Mulier incorporated curated art and design pieces into the boutique, including works by Ron Arad, Philippe Malouin, and Diamond Stingily. Stingily’s Elephant Memory Final, 2024—a large sculpture combining braided synthetic hair and galvanized steel—explores themes of the personal and industrial.

A spiral staircase connects the boutique’s levels, with the mezzanine hosting Le Café Sant Ambroeus. The café’s intimate ambiance contrasts with the ground floor’s spaciousness, offering a place for gatherings and reflecting the familial essence of Alaïa.

This new location embodies Alaïa’s commitment to craftsmanship, beauty, and artistry, while expanding its presence in Paris. According to the Maison, the flagship at 15 Faubourg continues to honor the house’s essence: that of a home.
