Jacquemus revisits Versailles to unveil Le Paysan, a collection rooted in personal heritage and pastoral beauty
Simon Porte Jacquemus is heading back to Château de Versailles for his upcoming runway presentation, set to take place on June 29 at the Orangerie—marking the close of Paris Men’s Fashion Week. The venue, originally constructed by Louis XIV to house citrus trees during the winter months, serves as the backdrop for the unveiling of the Le Paysan collection, a deeply personal project that draws from the designer’s rural heritage in the South of France.
The return to Versailles follows Jacquemus’ 2023 show on the Grand Canal, which initiated the brand’s elevation strategy and supported restoration work at the historic site. This time, the designer’s focus shifts to the Orangerie, a space that has long held symbolic appeal. “Le Paysan felt like that moment, a collection that tells the story of where I come from, but also where we’re heading,” Jacquemus shared.
The designer has begun teasing the collection on Instagram through a series of bucolic visuals: wheat fields, shelling beans, and children at roadside stands. Framed as a tribute to his upbringing and cultural roots, the collection’s title—Le Paysan, or “The Peasant”—signals a continued exploration of romanticized pastoral imagery through the lens of contemporary fashion.
With this upcoming presentation, Jacquemus once again blends dreamlike storytelling with landmark locations, reinforcing the brand’s identity through a poetic intersection of memory, aspiration, and place.
