Burberry and Quentin Blake Bring British Whimsy to New Capsule Collection

The collaboration translates the celebrated illustrator’s drawings into ready-to-wear and accessories inspired by nature, storytelling, and craftsmanship

Burberry has partnered with acclaimed British illustrator Sir Quentin Blake on a capsule collection that brings the artist’s distinctive drawings and playful imagination into the world of fashion.

Created under the direction of Burberry Chief Creative Officer Daniel Lee, the collection spans womenswear, menswear, and childrenswear, featuring a selection of Blake’s illustrations across apparel and accessories. The collaboration celebrates a shared British heritage, combining Burberry’s craftsmanship with the storytelling sensibility that has defined Blake’s work for nearly seven decades.

“Sir Quentin Blake’s illustrations capture a sense of childhood magic,” said Lee. “They have a very British style, and we wanted to bring his amazing creations into the world of Burberry.”

Best known for his work across children’s literature and visual storytelling, Blake has become one of Britain’s most recognizable illustrators. Knighted in 2013, the artist’s expressive line drawings and whimsical characters have appeared in countless books and cultural projects throughout his career.

At the heart of the collection are hand-drawn motifs inspired by both archival and newly created artwork. Feather illustrations derived from Blake’s 1971 pen-and-ink drawings for an English-language edition of The Birds by Aristophanes appear throughout the capsule, alongside previously unreleased illustrations depicting figures interacting with the natural world.

Burberry’s signature outerwear receives particular attention. Trench coats crafted from lightweight tropical gabardine reinterpret Blake’s feather motifs through embroidery, print, and artisanal finishing techniques. Styles including the Pembury and Foxfield trench feature silk linings, embroidered details, and special labels finished with the artist’s signature.

Elsewhere, printed silk appears across dresses, separates, scarves, and knitwear, while jersey T-shirts, sweatshirts, and tops serve as canvases for Blake’s illustrations. Accessories continue the theme, with embroidered artwork appearing on baseball caps and Scottish-woven cashmere scarves.

Blending fashion with illustration, the collection offers a playful interpretation of Burberry’s heritage through the lens of one of Britain’s most beloved artistic voices, transforming familiar wardrobe staples into pieces infused with narrative, humor, and imagination.
